Energy Recruiters has partnered with an outstanding independent fuel supplier and retailer that has been in business for over 80 years. This organization has become one of the nation’s western premier fuel suppliers. This is a leadership position and it sits in OKC or North Central CA.
Compensation
$110,000 - $150,000 salary (based on experience) plus bonus

Responsibilities
Guide, supervise and train tax staff on preparation of tax returns.
Maintain knowledge of multi-state and federal tax laws.
Manage department workflow and delegate work as necessary during critical tax deadlines and year-end closeout process.
Create a comprehensive tax compliance calendar and reporting cadence.
Present guidance to tax staff and organization as to timing and requirements needed for tax compliance.
Cooperate with Sales, Fuel Supply, and Logistics teams to provide timely and accurate guidance for transactions when moving into new or existing markets/states.
Work closely with business management teams to compile necessary information for timely preparation of tax returns.
Guarantee all licenses related to tax compliance are properly maintained.
Other non-fuel tax compliance requirements (e.g., sales & use taxes, property taxes, other taxes, etc. (does not include income tax reporting or strategy).
Initiate and implement strategic tax plans to minimize tax obligations while staying abreast or researching federal and state tax issues.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in accounting and taxation.
Proven success leading a tax team.
Experience with Petroleum tax concepts and regulations related to Motor Fuel Tax, C corps, S corps, partnerships, and trusts.
Ability to thrive in a team environment.
